It's That Time of Year Again

FORT MYERS , FL, September 16, 1998 --The LeeWay discount program renewal notices are in the mail to those customers who have existing discount programs. The discount programs, formerly called sticker programs, allow fifty cent or unlimited toll passage on an annual or semi-annual basis. The discount programs expire on October 31, 1998 and must be renewed to continue the discounted passage. If you have not received your Renewal Form, please call the LeeWay Service Center to obtain one. The forms are self explanatory and were mailed out in mid September, so that LeeWay customers would have plenty of time to renew. To prevent interruption of your discount program, be sure to mail your Renewal Form promptly. While the Service Center will process the applications as rapidly as possible, only those forms received prior to the October 16th postmark deadline are guaranteed to experience no interruption of their discount programs. The renewal process should be greatly streamlined this year because the majority of our customers already have their transponders, says Chris Swenson, Project Manager for the Variable Pricing Project. If you are changing discount programs, or switching from manual coin drop to a prepaid account, it is important that you watch the patron toll display at the toll facilities. When the display tells you it is no longer necessary to drop the coins. The patron toll display is the small electronic sign in every lane, affixed below the traffic light. The patron toll display notifies you of your account transaction status. Customers with discount programs for the Sanibel Causeway will notice the Lee County Department of Transportation has included a survey with the program renewals. The purpose of the survey is to determine preferences regarding the Sanibel Causeway and it's restoration or replacement. If you have questions regarding the Sanibel Causeway survey, please call a special phone number designated for this survey only 479-8909. The LeeWay service center representatives have nothing to do with this survey and cannot answer questions about this survey. For those customers requesting additional transponders, a security deposit is required for all transponders issued after August 15, 1998. Keep in mind that the Variable Pricing discounts are only available to customers who have set-up a prepaid account. Participating in Variable Pricing is simple, you need to have a LeeWay prepaid account and a LeeWay transponder installed in your car, then all you need to do is travel through the Cape Coral or Midpoint Memorial toll facilities during the Variable Pricing times of 6:30 a.m. - 7:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., and 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and you will automatically receive the 50% reduction in your toll. (This is not available to patrons with the no trip charge also known as the unlimited discount program.) The LeeWay Service Center and test lane business hours are: 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For questions with the Renewal Form call the service center at 533-9297.
