Midpoint Bridge Toll Plaza Reconstruction
Lane Shifts Beginning July 19th
LEE COUNTY, FL (July 15, 2010) – Beginning Monday, July 19th, eastbound lanes through the Midpoint Bridge Toll Plaza will be shifted to the north. Once the traffic shift is complete, there will be six westbound travel lanes and two eastbound travel lanes. This lane shift is necessary to allow crews to demolish the southern portion of the toll plaza canopy. This traffic shift is expected to remain in place for approximately 60 days.
During the toll plaza reconstruction, bicyclists will use a new bike path being constructed north of the toll plaza. The new bike path is scheduled to be open by July 20th.
For updates on all lanes closures, traffic shifts and construction progress, please visit the project Web site at www.LeeBridgeConstruction.com.
Motorists are advised to USE CAUTION driving through the toll plaza, and to follow work zone signage and message boards.
This schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather and unforeseen underground conditions, etc.
